The Counter-tenor As a young counter-tenor Michael appeared with the Hobart Chamber Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as well as making many appearance with Bel Canto Australia. His flexibility and ability to move comfortably between the vocal fachs was put to good use in Joe Bugden's 'The Call of Aurora', showing Michael's skill as an emerging exponent of the voce finta repertoire. Michael is in the planning stages of several performances from 2008 onwards, these include Vivaldi's cantata 'Cessate, Omai Cessate' and Benjamin Britten's 'Canticle II - Abraham and Isaac' with tenor Michael Curtain. In 2008 he will also appear with the Mediocritist Ensemble. Here is a sample of Michael performing Purcell's "Music for a while" live in a concert with Karen Smithies.
