The Conductor Michael Lampard has studied choral and orchestral conducting with Jean Louis Forestier at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music and with Tze-Law Chan at the Australian International Summer Orchestral Institute.
In 2004 Michael founded and became the musical director the young male vocal group Ensemble Del Sarte. This group has performed in many concerts with both Bel Canto Australia and the Hobart Orpheus Choir. In 2007 Michael was appointed the musical director of the Hobart Orpheus Choir in their 130th anniversary year. This year he has conducted such works as Faure's 'Requiem' and 'Cantique', worked as chorus master on Dvorak's 'Te Deum' and conducted the world premiere of Don Kay's 'Her Passion Tells', his own work 'Ave Verum Corpus', several choral arrangements and Elgar's 'Pomp and Circumstance' with full orchestra and choir working the with Hobart Orpheus Choir and the Derwent Symphony Orchestra. In 2007 Michael conducted the musical 'Huckleberry Finn' (Redding) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 2008 Michael will work as coach to and will appear as guest conductor with the Hobart Orpheus Choir. He will also work as assistance conductor with the Derwent Symphony Orchestra.
